Yarn for sale!

It's been another busy week here on Sheridan Road.  My BEST FRIEND EVER was in town last week & we saw some shows, ate lots of food, did some shopping & some touristy things, and just had a generally WONDERFUL time.  I've been kinda feeling down lately, so getting some loving from someone who loves me as much as I KNOW he does was MUCH NEEDED.

Part of that shopping was getting yarn from my FAVORITE yarn store EVER:  Loopy Yarns.  This super special yarn I bought?  To make things for the Etsy shop I've decided to open.  That's right.  After MONTHS of people telling me I should, I've decided to bite the bullet!  But I have to make stuff first, so that's on the agenda this week. 

I spent all of last week hooking up a ton of washcloths to send to a friend of mine back in Indy to sell at her home/garden store.  I'll be mailing those tomorrow!

Lastly, I found this awesome give away on twitter.  The Knit Purl Gurl is giving away some of Lion Brand Yarn's Cotton Bamboo yarn, which I have been DYING to try.  So hopefully my name gets drawn from the millions of comments I'm leaving.  If I do win, be sure that the yarn will be put towards more Etsy shop projects! 

Granny Blanket Progress!!!

I spent a lot of time Saturday night working on the granny square blanket.  I plan on it being 11x15 squares.  As of now, it's 6x5.  Stitching those suckers together is tedious work, yo!  But it looks so pretty! 

And, in true stage manager form, I'm using office supplies, binder clips specifically, to keep my work together.  All of the dangling yarn used to stitch them together are being neatly bound together with these awesome supplies :).  

DIY Trunkshow

Yesterday, I checked out the DIY Trunkshow here in Chicago.  It was held at the Pulaski Park Auditorium, which was pretty cool looking.  Basically, the event was like going to a giant mall of Etsy Shops IN PERSON.  For reals, it was great.  And if I had lots of money, I would have come home with all SORTS of good stuff.  Alas, I have very little money, so I couldn't.  But I did pick up some great hand-screen-printed Chicago Holiday cards.  I also got these great little business card sized thingers to put in with my knit/crochet gifts that I give people.  They say "Hand Made", have a cute little image of hands doing some knitting, and an area that says "Materials & Care" so that I can specify how to wash, etc the gift.  Super excited.  Above is a picture of the Pulaski Park Auditorium.
